[personal profile] randomactsofkarmasc posting in [community profile] sanepolytheism
I have been working on a series of meditations to correlate The Cosmic Doctrine with the Cabala (as presented by Levi in High Magic and JMG in Paths of Wisdom).  As I worked with the ideas, I began to see how a theogony of the Greek pantheon could be aligned with the Cabala ("a" theogony, not "the" theogony, as I borrowed deities and myths from a variety of mythographers).

I don't consider my metaphor to be "right" or "done"; I'm sure I'll be revising it as I learn and grow.  I attribute much of my learning and growth to JMG and his commentariat, so I am sharing this in hopes that some of you may have time to read my metaphor and provide feedback or, if you have been working on your own metaphor or Cosmic Doctrine/Cabala alignment, that you'll consider sharing yours.

My Metaphor

Thank you for sharing, this is fascinating! I have read the CosDoc, but not yet had a chance to dive into Cabala, so I don't have much commentary, but I look forward to giving it better than a skim at some point soon.

Started reading this then got to the pictures and realized this will take much more in depth reading. This looks very interesting and might help me make sense of what I'm getting from levi's high magic as well as Greers Paths of wisdom(which I'm meditating through currently).

Look forwarding to reading. Both Pico della Mirandola and Jean DuBuis have a correspondence schemata that links the Greek pantheon to Cabala, for whatever it's worth...

You can find Pico's in his 900 Theses, specifically in the second section, 11>48 (synchronicity, perhaps, but I had been reading about this literally this morning, prior to going online and seeing this post). You can likely find this online in translation. You can find Portae Lucis's correspondences here (else search Portae Lucis > Further Explanations > The Gifts from the Grandfather (it's a magic site and has its traps... :> ))

I would note, for us poveri syncretists from the Italo-Greco diaspora, that the latter synchs up well with Dante's spheres of Paradise...

Axé!

Sure...I would hasten to add, though, that I in no way present these as doctrinal (indeed, they don't accord, themselves). While I have yet to read your thesis, it is my hunch that, if you find viable, robust correspondences that aid you on your path, then they are presumably godsent, and that you should follow what works for you.

Axé and all blessings...

For whatever it may be worth: glancing at your work it strikes me as frankly brilliant discursive meditation rife with deep insights. Personally, I tend to think in terms of different metaphors. That said, I thought I'd drop in to note my admiration!

Of course, you are most welcome and I'm delighted that what I wrote made you happy. The words I wrote are sincere. Looking over the PDF again, I'm very impressed by the degree of synthesis and insight you have achieved so far. Regardless of how you develop this further, what you've accomplished so far strikes me as a brilliant expression of systematic thinking.

Thank you for sharing your work!

I arrived near the very end of the Cosmic Doctrine study group on the other blog, so I'm not that familiar with the material. And Cabala is a complete terra incognita to me! With that in mind, I am impressed with the energy and commitment you've put into creating your Metaphor, and I look forward to revisiting it when I have a better grasp of the fundamentals.
